Having ideas of varying types and styles is OK-Maybe you’re a Polymath
A buddy of mine, Chris Blanz, is the CEO and Creative Director at Cabedge here in Nashville. The list of awards Cabedge has won for web design, internet development and public relations is so long and so varied it almost looks fake. (It isn’t, but it man it’s huge). Chris sent me a couple of video interviews of Dave Stewart. He’s the guy from The Eurythmics. If you’re not aware of what he is and does outside of that, and you’re a creative of any type, then brace yourself. You’re about to add a new hero to your shortlist. You’re also going to find out its OK to have an abundance of different types and styles of ideas and you don’t have to waste years of your life developing just one of them. His new book The Business Playground is an eye and head opener.

As the Entrepreneur In Residence at The Nashville Entrepreneur Center, I meet people with great ideas every day. Ideas for toys, medical devices, weapons and apps. And ideas for babies, sports, travel and pets. Most are truly great. Getting that great idea protected, prototyped and licensed or sold and into an analog or digital store is the goal. To do that you need to pitch that idea to licensees, Venture Capitalists and/or Angel Investors. Helping you learn to do that is the focus of the IdeaBang Blog.- About Scott Rouse
